Collection of RECENT BUYS (June 2017 Summary)

Since our family began investing in dividend stocks approximately two and a half years ago, I've been keeping a personal log of what other dividend bloggers and dividend investors are buying. The collection essentially highlights the Recent Buys that I discover throughout the dividend blog community. Its nice to see what others are buying, if for nothing more to get some ideas.

This collection started out as my own personal data sheet but I have since decided to share it with the DGI community.  I am glad I did because, as evident in our recent post (We Just Joined the 500K club), it has been once of the more popular pages on our blog!! We hope it everyone continues to use our Collection of Recent Buys and it remains a great resource for all. It can be a lot of work to maintain but we remain committed and will do our best to keep this list up to date.

AND NOW FOR THE SUMMARY OF
WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN BUYING THIS PAST MONTH

We are not sure if DGI investors in our blogging community have stopped posting their buys, or if the buying activity simply saw a significant slow down, but we were only able to find and log a total of 36 buys throughout the DGI community.

Below is a chart and corresponding table that identifies those companies that were purchased at least two times this past month:
To summarize the past month, out of a total of 36 buys found around the DGI community (with a minimum total of $300), a total of 29 companies were purchased with a total of 5 companies that were bought more than once. From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 80.5% of the time. We definitely like to see the diversity in purchases made throughout the DGI investing community.  The wide range of stocks bought shows independent analysis and strategies among investors and indirectly introduces new stocks to those whom are looking for ideas.
For the month of June, General Mills Inc (GIS) lead the charge as the most popular stocks among DGI investors for the second consecutive month. GIS was purchased by 4 different investors throughout the DGI community.
The second most popular stock this past month was Realty Income Corp (O) which was purchased by 3 different investors throughout the DGI community.
Rounding up the third was a 3-way tie between Cisco Systems Inc (CSCO), The Kroger Co (KR), and Target Corporation (TGT)All three companies were purchased by 2 different investors throughout the DGI community.

It could become a place where one can get ideas on what to invest in next, to establish a desired stock purchase price, or simply to see what your favorite blogger is buying.  Whatever your reason, my hope is that this collection proves to be a great reference tool and helps provide you that little extra advantage that you are looking for in order to succeed with your investing.

AND NOW FOR THE SUMMARY OF
WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN BUYING THIS PAST MONTH

During the month of May a total of 57 buys were found throughout the DGI community. Based on the buys found, it appears that DGI investors are finding nice yields (mostly above 3%) in this months buys.

Below is a chart and corresponding table that identifies those companies that were purchased at least two times this past month:
To summarize the past month, out of a total of 57 buys found around the DGI community (with a minimum total of $300), a total of 34 companies were purchased with a total of 8 companies that were bought more than once. From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 59.6% of the time. We definitely like to see the diversity in purchases made throughout the DGI investing community.  The wide range of stocks bought shows independent analysis and strategies among investors and indirectly introduces new stocks to those whom are looking for ideas.

For the month of May, both AT&T (T) and General Mills Inc (GIS) lead the charge as the most popular stocks among DGI investors this past month. Both companies were purchased by 6 different investors throughout the DGI community. At 5.04% and 3.34% yield, respectively, both companies provide  a nice dividend above the 3% level.
The second most popular stock this past month was Verizon Wireless (VZ) which was purchased by 5 different investors throughout the DGI community.  At 4.97%, VZ is yet another great stock with a juicy dividend yield. Our family also managed to also grab a few shares of this popular choice among DGI investors. On May 17, 2017, our family picked up 15 shares of Verizon Wireless (VZ) at $44.88. We actually think AT&T Inc. offers a slightly better value, but since AT&T already makes up a little more than 6% of our portfolio, we decided to grab shares of VZ.

Rounding up the third was a 4-way tie between Omega Health Care Investors Inc (OHI), General Electric Co (GE), W.W. Grainger Inc (GWW), and Realty Income Corp (O)All four companies were purchased by 3 difference investors throughout the DGI community. Once again, the theme continues.  At 8.01% ,3.44%, 2.96%, 4.88% yields, respectively, it appears DGI investors are finding nice yields in these popular stocks.
The last stock to be purchased more than once was Emerson Electric (EMR). Not to be outdone, EMR offers an attractive yield at 3.24%.

AND NOW FOR THE SUMMARY OF
WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN BUYING THIS PAST MONTH

During the month of January a total of 58 buys were found throughout the DGI community. Even with the DOW above the 20,000 threshold, and uncertainty of the impact from Trump administration policies, it appears that DGI investors continue to find the value buys.  This is evident in the slight spike in buying activity in February compared to the month of January.

Below is a chart and corresponding table that identifies those companies that were purchased at least two times this past month:
To summarize the past month, out of a total of 58 buys found around the DGI community (with a minimum total of $300), a total of 43 companies were purchased with a total of 11 companies that were bought more than once. From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 74.1% of the time. We definitely like to see the diversity in purchases made throughout the DGI investing community.  The wide range of stocks bought shows independent analysis and strategies among investors and indirectly introduces new stocks to those whom are looking for ideas.
For the second consecutive month, V.F. Corporation (VFC) lead the charge as the most popular stocks among DGI investors. Once again, UL was purchased by 5 different investors throughout the DGI community. Our family grabbed a few shares back on January 26, 2017 and with the stock staying near its 52-week lows, we took the opportunity to grab a few more this past month.  On February 11, 2017, we grabbed 7 additional shares of V.F. Corporation (VFC) at $49.58.  We now own a total of 15 shares with a cost bases on $50.87.
There was a cluster of stocks competing for the second place spot this past month, including to Canadian based stocks. Always nice to see this collection extend beyond the US borders. ;)

In all, there were ten dividend paying stocks that rounded up second place with buys from 2 different DGI investors throughout the DGI community. They were: 3M Co (MMM) , Target Corp (TGT) , Walmart Stores Inc (WMT) , Apple Inc (AAPL) , Coca Cola Co (KO) , Verizon Communications Inc (VZ) , Gilead Science Inc (GILD) , Pfizer Inc (PFE) , Brixton Metals Corp (BBB.V) , Canadian Utilities Ltd (CU.TO).

AND NOW FOR THE SUMMARY OF
WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN BUYING THIS PAST MONTH

During the month of January a total of 49 buys were found throughout the DGI community. Given that the DOW is now above the 20,000 threshold, and there is much uncertainty of what Donald Trump's next move is, it appears that buying activities have slowed a bit.

Below is a chart and corresponding table that identifies those companies that were purchased three or more times this past month:
To summarize the past month, out of a total of 49 buys found around the DGI community (with a minimum total of $300), a total of 31 companies were purchased with a total of only 8 companies that were bought more than once. From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 63% of the time
For the month of January, V.F. Corporation (VFC) lead the charge as the most popular stocks among DGI investors this past month. UL was purchased by 5 different investors throughout the DGI community. Our family also managed to grab a few shares of this popular choice among DGI investors. On January 26, 2017, our family picked up 8 shares of V.F. Corporation (VFC) at $52.00.
The second most popular stock this past month was Unilever (UL) which was purchased by 4 different investors throughout the DGI community.  UL appears to have remained on everybody's radar since November, when it was the most bought stock in the DGI community.
Rounding up the third was a 4-way tie between Gilead Sciences, Inc (GILD), Procter & Gamble (PG), Target Corporation (TGT), and CVS Pharmacy (CVS). All four companies were purchased by 3 difference investors throughout the DGI community. Our family grabbed 7 shares of Gilead Sciences (GILD) at $71.33 on January 19, 2017.

Although not included in the above summary charts, it is worth mentioning that the following two stocks were bought more than once this past month:
  1. AbbVie Inc (ABBV)
  2. Qualcomm Inc (QCOM)

Collection of RECENT BUYS (November 2016 Summary)

Since I began investing in dividend stocks approximately two years ago I've been keeping a personal log of what other dividend bloggers and dividend investors are buying.  Until now, I've just done it for my own personal knowledge and it has proven to be a great resource I use when I have no idea what I should buy.

The collection essentially highlights the Recent Buys I have discovered throughout the dividend blog community. I always like to see what others are buying.  And with this collection, one can easily see all the buys in one centralized source. I Hope everyone has found it to be a great resource!

In case you just want a quick summary of what everyone has been buying this past month, below is a chart that depicts just that! :)

During the month of November a total of 64 buys were found throughout the DGI community. With the market on the rise since the US presidential election, and the DOW is now approaching 20,000, it appears that buying activities have slowed a bit.  I'm not sure about other investors out there but the property taxes and the holiday season has put a damper in our family's investing budget. We still have a set percentage going to retirement accounts and college savings but our supplemental dividend stocks account certainly takes a backseat during the time of the year. :(

Below is a chart and corresponding table that identifies those companies that were purchased more than once this past month.

To summarize the past month, out of a total of 64 buys found around the DGI community, a total of 48 companies were purchased with a total of only 10 companies that were bought more than once.  From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 75% of the time
For the month of November, Unilever (UL) lead the charge as the most popular stocks among DGI investors this past month. UL was purchased by 5 different investors throughout the DGI community. We only made one purchase this past month but our family did manage to grab a few shares of this popular choice among DGI investors. Our family picked up 20 shares of Unilever (UL) at $24.33.
Three companies tied for as the second most popular stock this past month. In November, CVS Health Corp (CVS), Unilever (UL), and Realty Income (O) was purchased by 3 different investors throughout the DGI community. Both CVS and UL carried their momentum from October when they were in an unprecedented 13-way tie for the third most popular stock.

Now rounding up the third most popular stock for the month of November is a 6-way tie between:
  1. AT&T Inc (T)
  2. B2Gold Corp (BTG)
  3. J.M. Smucker Co (SJM)
  4. Ventas Inc (VTR)
  5. Nike Inc (NKE)
  6. Amgen Inc (AMGN)
All thirteen companies were purchased by 2 different investors throughout the DGI community
