Collection of RECENT BUYS (November 2016 Summary)

Since I began investing in dividend stocks approximately two years ago I've been keeping a personal log of what other dividend bloggers and dividend investors are buying.  Until now, I've just done it for my own personal knowledge and it has proven to be a great resource I use when I have no idea what I should buy.

The collection essentially highlights the Recent Buys I have discovered throughout the dividend blog community. I always like to see what others are buying.  And with this collection, one can easily see all the buys in one centralized source. I Hope everyone has found it to be a great resource!

In case you just want a quick summary of what everyone has been buying this past month, below is a chart that depicts just that! :)

During the month of November a total of 64 buys were found throughout the DGI community. With the market on the rise since the US presidential election, and the DOW is now approaching 20,000, it appears that buying activities have slowed a bit.  I'm not sure about other investors out there but the property taxes and the holiday season has put a damper in our family's investing budget. We still have a set percentage going to retirement accounts and college savings but our supplemental dividend stocks account certainly takes a backseat during the time of the year. :(

Below is a chart and corresponding table that identifies those companies that were purchased more than once this past month.

To summarize the past month, out of a total of 64 buys found around the DGI community, a total of 48 companies were purchased with a total of only 10 companies that were bought more than once.  From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 75% of the time
For the month of November, Unilever (UL) lead the charge as the most popular stocks among DGI investors this past month. UL was purchased by 5 different investors throughout the DGI community. We only made one purchase this past month but our family did manage to grab a few shares of this popular choice among DGI investors. Our family picked up 20 shares of Unilever (UL) at $24.33.
Three companies tied for as the second most popular stock this past month. In November, CVS Health Corp (CVS), Unilever (UL), and Realty Income (O) was purchased by 3 different investors throughout the DGI community. Both CVS and UL carried their momentum from October when they were in an unprecedented 13-way tie for the third most popular stock.

Now rounding up the third most popular stock for the month of November is a 6-way tie between:
  1. AT&T Inc (T)
  2. B2Gold Corp (BTG)
  3. J.M. Smucker Co (SJM)
  4. Ventas Inc (VTR)
  5. Nike Inc (NKE)
  6. Amgen Inc (AMGN)
All thirteen companies were purchased by 2 different investors throughout the DGI community

Collection of RECENT BUYS (October 2016 Summary)

During the month of October a total of 74 buys were found throughout the DGI community. Although we logged in more buys this past month compared to the month of September, it appears that we are seeing more investors selling recently. With the Dow Jones seemingly content hovering just above 18,000, and the upcoming presidential election in November, it appears that many DGI investors are looking to cash in some profits and sit on the sidelines to watch the election results and how it will impact the markets.
Below is a chart that shows those companies that were purchased more than once this past month.
To summarize the past month, out of a total of 64 buys found around the DGI community, a total of 43 companies were purchased with a total of only 16 companies that were bought more than once.  From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 67.1% of the time. This percentage is consistent with the average that we've seen in the last few months. I love seeing the diversity!
For the month of October, AbbVie, Inc (ABBV) and AT&T, Inc (T) lead the charge as the most popular stocks among DGI investors this past month. Both companies were purchased by 4 different investors throughout the DGI community.

The second most popular stock this past month was Altria Group, Inc. (MO). MO was purchased by 3 different investors throughout the DGI community.

The third most popular stock in October was an unprecedented 13-way tie between:

  1. CVS Health Corp (CVS)
  2. Bristol-Myers Squibb Co (BMY)
  3. Cardinal Health Inc (CAH)
  4. V.F. Corp (VFC)
  5. Nokia Corp ADR (NOK)
  6. Omega Health Care Investors Inc (OHI)
  7. Unilever N.V. Depository Receipt (UNA)
  8. T.Rowe Price Group Inc (TROW)
  9. Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS)
  10. Emera Inc (EMA.TO)
  11. Franco Nevada Corp (FNV)
  12. Flower Foods Inc (FLO)
  13. Gilead Sciences Inc (GILD)
All thirteen companies were purchased by 2 different investors throughout the DGI communityOur family were part this group as we picked up 75 shares of Nokia Corporation ADR (NOK) on October 18th.

Collection of RECENT BUYS (September 2016 Summary)

Since I began investing in dividend stocks approximately two years ago I've been keeping a personal log of what other dividend bloggers and dividend investors are buying.  Until now, I've just done it for my own personal knowledge and it has proven to be a great resource I use when I have no idea what I should buy.

In case you just want a quick summary of what everyone has been buying this past month, below is a chart that depicts just that! :)

During the month of September a total of 74 buys were found throughout the DGI community. Although we logged in more buys this past month compared to the month of August, it appears that we are seeing more investors selling recently.

To summarize the past month, out of a total of 74 buys found around the DGI community, a total of 49 companies were purchased with a total of only 11 companies that were bought more than once.  From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 66.2% of the time. Once again, there are many companies bought buy DGI investors that I was not familiar with. It just shows that DGI are digging deep to find the better deals. I love seeing the diversity, and especially the lesser known names!!

Both Flower Foods (FLO) and The Walt Disney Company (DIS) continued their momentum from last month and, as a result, was the most popular stocks this past month. Both companies were purchased by 6 different investors throughout the DGI community. We were also part of the 6 buys. On September 9th, our family purchased 33 shares of FLO at $14.63.

The second most popular stock this past month was T.Row Price Group, Inc. (TROW). TROW was purchased by 4 different investors throughout the DGI community.
There was a three way tie for the third most popular this past month, as   The Coca Cola Company (KO)Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS), Gilead Sciences,  Inc. (GILD), were all purchased by 3 different investors throughout the DGI communityWe were part of the 3 buys. On September 9th, our family purchased 8 shares of GILD at $78.53.

And although not included in the chart, there were a total of 5 companies with 2 buys:
  1. Target Corp (TGT)
  2. Xcel Energy (XEL)
  3. Wells Fargo Corp (WFC)
  4. General Mills Inc (GIS)
  5. V.F. Corp (VFC)

Collection of RECENT BUYS (August 2016 Summary)

During the month of August a total of 62 buys were found throughout the DGI community. It was somewhat of an average buying month out there. With the markets remaining somewhat steady during the past two months, it appears that many DGI investors are somewhat happy to sit back and collect dividends. There are a few decent values out there but with the Dow Jones above 18,000, Nasdaq above 5,000, and the S&P 500 above 2,000, it certainly isn't easy to find SUPER deals lately. Below is a chart that shows those companies that were purchased more than once this past month.

To summarize the past month, out of a total of 62 buys found around the DGI community, a total of 49 companies were purchased with a total of only 6 companies that were bought more than once.  From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock not purchased by others 79.0% of the time. I have to admit, there are many companies bought buy DGI investors that I was not familiar with. It just shows that DGI are digging deep to find the better deals. I personally love seeing the diversity, and especially the lesser known names!!

Well, if you are active in the DGI blogging community, its probably to no surprise to you that Flower Foods (FLO) was the most popular purchase this past month. With the lack luster 2nd quarter report, and the fears over pending lawsuits, FLO was the most popular company this past month and was purchased by 9 different investors throughout the DGI community. At today's price of $15.08, FLOW remains an attractive buy for long term dividends investors.  We personally like FLO below $14.50, but we think that as long as FLO remains near $15 mark, it should remain a popular buy among DGI investors.

With the huge diversity this past month, we saw a huge separation between the most popular stock and the second most popular stock. In fact, there was so much diversity that there was a 5-way tie for second place between The Coca Cola Company (KO)The Walt Disney Company (DIS), Vodafone Group Plc (VOD)T.Rowe Price Group, Inc (TROW)and EPR Properties (EPR) with just 2 buys and no other stock was purchased more than once.

Collection of RECENT BUYS (May 2016 Summary)

During the month of May a total of 76 buys were found throughout the DGI community (Compared to just 37 found during the month of April).  After several consecutive months of a relative low buying from the DGI community, it was nice to see everyone buying once again. So far, June is starting out with buying activity similar to what we saw in May.  Let's hope that continues so that we can all boost those forward dividends! Dividend raises are nice, but nothing moves the needle better than adding more companies or shares to the portfolio. :)

To summarize the past month, out of a total of 76 buys found around the DGI community, a total of 52 companies were purchased, and a total of 11 companies were bought more than once.  From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock that was not purchased by others 68.4% of the time
The most popular company this past month was Apple Inc (AAPL)which was purchased by 9 different investors throughout the DGI community. Last month, although there were only 37 buys, APPL was in the top two having been purchased by three DGI investors. As long as AAPL remains below $100, we think APPL may still remain a popular buy among DGI investors.
The second most popular company this past month was Target Corporation (TGT), which was purchased by 5 different investors throughout the DGI community. As detailed in our last Recent Buy post, our family also purchased a few shares in TGT this past month. We are ready to add more shares if TGT continues to dip near the low 60s.  If not, we still think TGT is a nice buy in the mid 60s.

There was a 4-way tie for third place between Gilead Sciences (GILD)Valero Energy Corp (VLO), Wells Fargo Corp (WFC)and Southern Company (SO) with a total of 3 buys.

And although not included in the chart, there were a total of 6 companies with 2 buys:
  1. Automatic Data Processing (ADP)
  2. Stag Industrial Inc Real Estate Trust (STAG)
  3. Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (PEB)
  4. Walt Disney Company, The (DIS)
  5. Corus Entertainment Inc (CJR.B)

Collection of RECENT BUYS (April 2016 Summary)

During the month of April a total of 37 buys were found throughout the DGI community. Although we saw an uptick in buying activity towards the end of the month, overall, it looks like DGI investors continued their decreased buying activity for the third consecutive month.  In January, we found a total of 128 buys, followed by 116 buys in February and 83 last month.  The winters specials have definitely gone away for now.
To summarize the past month, out of a total of 37 buys found around the DGI community, a total of 30 companies were purchased, and only 5 companies were bought more than once.  From the buys collected,  DGI investors picked up a stock that was not purchased by others 81.0% of the time.

With such a short list compiles, two companies ended with the top spot with buys from 3 different investors throughout the DGI community.  The companies were Apple Inc (AAPL)  and Wells Fargo Corp (WFC)Last month, Wells Fargo was in a 3-way tie for second with a total of 3 buys.
There was a 3-way tie for second place between Gilead Sciences Inc (GILD)Starbucks Corp. (SBUX), and Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners LP (BEP), which were each purchased by 2 different investors throughout the DGI community

All other stock buys found throughout the DGI were only bought once!!
