  1. Like the purchases here, especially DE (sneak preview, just picked up some DE myself). Pretty awesome to be able to add over $100 in forward 12-month dividends to your portfolio. Provides a really tangible metric to show how much you will receive going forward.

    1. Thanks W2R. Great to hear we are common shareholders in DE. Price has continued to drop lately but feel confident about the long term prospects for DE so I do not mind averaging down my cost here. :)

We've been pretty active in the buying category lately trying to spend some of our profits from the sells we had made back in May and June. Glad to have this opportunity to pick up some good companies at discounted prices. :) AFFJ

  2. Good stuff, AFFJ. Some great names there that I would love to add to my portfolio. Btw, I think theres a mistake in your KMI dividends paid since (says 1937)

    1. Thanks R2R. I'm sure you recognize a few of these from other dividend bloggers. These five seem to be pretty popular these days. :)

BTW, thanks for catching the typo, I have since made the change. AFFJ

    2. Hey AFFJ, a quick note.
After moving my blog from Blogger to WP, the site doesnt get updated on other blogs in the Blogroll list. Could you please remove my blog and re-add it back? Thanks.
Sorry for leaving the message here - but couldnt find a Contact page on your blog.

      cheers

  3. Very nice buys here. SDRL is giving my portfolio a beating and I am hoping they don't plan on cutting that huge dividend. They are looking good at these prices but only if they can keep paying the 11% dividend. Either way I don't see myself holding this one for years to come.

    1. In the short run, I think all offshore drillers may continue to take a hit but I think they should all rebound nicely in the upcoming year. I plan to continue to average down if they continue to fall.

I'm just thankful I do get 100 free trades a years because it allows me to buy in small increments which make it much easier to average down. :)

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments. AFFJ

    1. Thanks Tawcan...Popular stocks among the dividend bloggers is a good thing, right? After all, everyone is doing there own independent screens and research. If many are buying, that definitely adds to my confidence for the stock.

I'm just hoping September continues to provide many more opportunities to pick up shares and increase our annual dividends.

      Best wishes! AFFJ

  6. Great purchases! I own all but SDRL. Is SDRL a MLP actually? I usually try to avoid MLPs and sometimes have a hard time finding out if a particular stock is one on not... what is your broker?

    1. In 2012, Seadrill (SDRL) spun off Seadrill Partners (SDLP) which is an MLP, but SDRL is still a normal stock.

We have an investment account with Wells Fargo.

    2. Thanks. I guess I will have to figure out if I get some of SDRL. The yield is very attractive for sure... but who knows how long they can continue paying this. A little bit of risk in an overall safe portfolio could not hurt I'd say : could add a bit of spice to the game! ;)

  7. AFFJ,

    Great buys here!

SDRL is an interesting one. I looked at it a while ago, and just couldn't figure out how they continue to pay that monster dividend. But I hope they do for your sake. :)

TIS looks great here. I thought about adding to my position in the company, but I've been wavering on it. Such a small company, but so much potential. And I love their westward expansion.

    Keep up the great work!

    Best wishes.

    1. Thanks Jason...we think both SDRL and TIS are offered at reasonably attractive prices right now. Both are on the riskier side of the spectrum but I don't mind holding a few in the portfolio.

In fact, I must credit you with TIS as I learned about the stock from your post and purchase a few months back. We've been watching the stock since. :)

Thanks for visiting and for your comment. Best Wishes! AFFJ

  8. Hey, nice work. I bought some TIS for myself and a family member's accounts between 25.85 and 26.45 recently. I think this is a hidden gem and people are underestimating the potential of their joint venture/partnership with Fabrica. We recently bought more KMP and KMI as well (different accounts).
I'm waiting for that "oh god, the bottom is falling out" moment to pull the trigger on DE and SDRL, which I think could both tank a lot harder given the right/wrong circumstances. Either way, many years from now, you'll probably be very happy with your purchases. Why SDRL over ESV? Just b/c of yield? ESV dividend seems a little "safer" at the moment. Cheers

    1. Glad to hear we are common shareholders in TIS. I actually first learned of TIS from Dividend Mantra a few months back and have been following the stock since. I agree that the long term prospects of TIS are underestimated by the market.

We would welcome you as fellow shareholders in DE and SDRL as well...both may have rocky waters ahead so I don't blame you for sitting on the side. We are trying not to time the market too much so we will continue to buy a little bit at a time when we think a stock is being offered at decent value.

We already own ESV and RIG, just figured we go for a trifecta in this industry. :) We've been watching the company for awhile now and couldn't resist at current prices.

      Cheers! AFFJ

    1. Thanks HHWG...most of these companies have been mentioned somewhere throughout the dividend stocks investment community. :)

TIS has dropped since we've bought it so you'd be getting a better value than we did. Nevertheless, definitely familiarize yourself with the company to make sure you understand the risks before you invest in TIS.

      Best Wishes! AFFJ
