Dividend Stocks Portfolio (Update) - November 2015

Here is the recent update to our dividend stocks portfolio – November 2015.

SALES

This past month we did not sell off any shares from our family's dividend stock portfolio.  But since we did not sell any shares throughout the month of October, that also means that our annual dividends did not decrease either

TOTAL VALUE OF ALL SALES: $0.00

OVERALL DECREASE TO ANNUAL DIVIDENDS: $0.00

PURCHASES

For a second consecutive month, our buying activity has slowed down. Hopefully, we can find some black Friday deals in the market and pick up our buying activity for the month of November. :) Nevertheless, we ended the month of October with 3 buys with a total of $2,080.90 in new capital put to work.  We bought shares in Ensco Plc (ESV), Wal-Mart Stores Inc (WMT), and Ventas Inc (VTR).  Since VTR was not previously held in our family dividend stocks portfolio, that meant that we added more more company to our list of dividend paying stocks.  Our total now stands at 48 different companies/ETF that pay us a dividend.

Below are the actual buys that we made during the past month:
10/1/15
51 shares of ESV (Ensco Plc) at $13.33

  • Total Spent: $679.83
  • Estimated Annual Dividend Received: $30.60
10/15/15
18 shares of WMT (Wal-Mart Stores, Inc) at $59.43
  • Total Spent: $1,069.87
  • Estimated Annual Dividend Received: $35.28
10/28/15
6 shares of VTR (Ventas, Inc) at $55.20
  • Total Spent: $331.20
  • Estimated Annual Dividend Received: $17.52
TOTAL SPENT ON NEW ACQUISITION: $2,080.90

OVERALL INCREASE TO ANNUAL DIVIDENDS$83.40

With the additional $83.40 in dividends, our new estimated annual income is now $3,932 (including our Edward Jones account) or and average of approximately $327.66/month.

    1. Thanks Blake. It was the 4th time this year we had $300 plus in dividends. It's great receive dividends each month but it is during these months that the compounding effect is really felt. Hoping to finish the year strong! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. AFFJ

  2. $300 in October is solid. I'm still a ways from reaching that but November and December will make up for it. No purchases for me in October but I did receive 5 dividend increases so that helped to move to the dividends forward. I'm hoping that November will see purchases starting to come again which I'll be very glad to see. Solid month AFFJ!

    1. We still don't receive $300 plus every month but hope to be there sometime in 2016. We all strive to buy each and every month to add to our forward dividends but if the opportunity is not there for whatever reason, an increase is certainly a welcome consolation.

Cheers to finishing the year strong! AFFJ

    1. WMT as well as TGT has been falling lately. Not sure if we plan to add more anytime soon, but we still like the long term prospects of both and plan to keep them in our family's dividend stocks account as the the dividend income has been a reliable source. AFFJ

    1. Thanks Sharon. The snowball effect sure gets some great momentum during months like these. :) Hopefully we can get the dividend income stream consistently in the $300s soon.

Thanks for stopping by. Cheers! AFFJ
