Dividend Stocks Portfolio (Update) - July 2015

Here is the recent update to our dividend stocks portfolio – July 2015.

SALES

This past month we did not sell off any shares from our family's dividend stock portfolio.  But since we did not sell any shares throughout the month of June, that also means that our annual dividends did not decrease either

As some of my friends would say, "I'll drink to that!" :)

TOTAL VALUE OF ALL SALES: $0.00

OVERALL DECREASE TO ANNUAL DIVIDENDS: $0.00

PURCHASES

We finally got back on track and saw a nice spike in stock buying activity this past month.  In fact, we ended the month of June with a total of 5 buy transactions.  From what we saw, many DGI bloggers had at least 3 buys throughout the month of June.  And I believe Jason from Dividend Mantra had a total of 10 buys this past month!  All in all, great month with lots of solid companies out there at very attractive prices.  Hope it continues because we certainly would like to keep this momentum going! :)

With the purchases this month, the family dividend stocks portfolio now contains a total of 40 different companies/ETF that all pay us a dividend.

The following is the actual buy that we made during the month of June:

6/4/15

OVERALL INCREASE TO ANNUAL DIVIDENDS$113.76

With the additional $113.76 in dividends, our new estimated annual income is now $3,310 or and average of approximately $275/month.

TRADE COUNTER

We are blessed to have a PMA trading account with Wells Fargo Investments.  With our PMA trading account, we receive 100 FREE trades a year!  How awesome is that?!? So far, we've used a total of 62 trades out of 100.  Our trade counter will reset on 9/15/2015. With just a little over 2 months left before our trade counter resets, that means we can average roughly 19 trades a month and not pay single penny in commission. Woohoo!

  5. Hey AFFJ,

Great result on the dividend front. Can't believe all those free trades you get! That would save me hundreds and hundreds of dollars every year! I think we get a little ripped off here in Australia when it comes to brokerage.

    Cheers,

    Jason

    1. Thanks Jason. We are lucky to have had the account long before they stopped giving free trades. The free trades and saved us tons of money and has allowed to buy in at smaller amounts at times.

Sorry to hear commission is so high for you in Austrailia. Hopefully the options and prices improve for you eventually.

Thanks for visiting. Best wishes! AFFJ

  6. Wow very nice month - I had to go lookup the Wells Fargo free trade thing and found that they changed the terms for new accounts as of April 1 2013 - https://www08.wellsfargomedia.com/downloads/pdf/online_brokerage/forms/pmapricing.pdf
-- Congrats on getting in on this deal though it seems to be a real asset to save on commissions!

    1. Thanks Redeemed Finance. We really just lucked out. Honestly, we didn't fully understand how much we would save over time until we started trading more and more.

The free trades has definitely allowed us to slowly build various holding through smaller and more frequent purchases. Easier to control cost basis and put our money to work sooner than if we were to wait and buy larger lots.

      Regards,
      AFFJ
