RECENT BUY - (NYSE : XOM)

WE RECENTLY PURCHASED THE FOLLOWING

EXXON MOBIL CORP (XOM)
Purchased 5 shares of XOM on 6/26/2015 at $83.50
Total Spent: $417.50
$14.60 added to annual dividends

On Thursday, we purchased Omega Healthcare REIT Investors, Inc (OHI) based on the results from our recent ASK THE READERS post.  With some extra funds laying around, we decided to also pick up share in Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM) which appeared to be our readers second pick. Since we already own shares of XOM, and the current price did allow us to average down our cost basis a bit, we decided to buy 5 shares of XOM on Friday, 6/26/15 at $83.50.

With this purchase, we now own 11 total shares of XOM in our family's dividend stocks portfolio. The purchase, however, did not add a new holding to our family's dividend stocks portfolio, which remains at a total of 40 different dividend paying stocks/ETFs in the portfolio. Our estimated forward dividends grew another $14.60, putting our yearly dividends at approximately $2,907/year (excluding our Edwards Jones account) and $3,289/year (including our Edward Jones account).

  1. The market is providing more opportunities to average down. Well done on your purchase on xom. I plan to average down on some of my companies this week.

    1. Thanks Div Son. I thought June might end as one of the best buying months but with Greece on shaky grounds, July might provide even more opportunities. Hope you find the opportunities you are looking for. I know we will be keep our eye wide open in the coming weeks to month. AFFJ

  2. AFFJ,

Great buy! I almost picked up some today as well. I went with UNP instead and have a CVX buy order going through tomorrow. There's nothing wrong with picking up a timeless company with a 3.5% yield.

    1. Thanks MDP, can't agree with your more. I must add that it sure seems that Mr. Market is providing some nice opportunities for investors to own these timeless companies at some attractive prices at the moment.

We own CVX, but not UNP, both great companies and very popular among DGI investors. Would love to own UNP if the opportunity presents itself though.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. AFFJ

  3. Looks like we'll be getting some better buying ops all around with Greece in the news. Nice solid pick up with XOM. No doubt that yield and valuation is getting really attractive again. Nice OHI buy too as the REITs are still pretty much hammered this year. I might be looking to add to my VTR, HCP and HCN in July.

    1. I hope your right, would love to continue building the family's dividend stock portfolio at discount prices. Glad to hear you like the XOM and OHI buys. We are hoping to continue the buying spree if Mr. Market continues to cooperate. :)

Hope your Health Care REITs provide you with opportunities to add shares. We may continue to add to our Health Care REIT holdings as well but might wait a little longer to see what kind of impact the rate hikes here in US have as we sense they may fall a bit further with the inevitable increases.

      Best wishes, AFFJ

    1. Thanks R2R. XOM is definitely a company we plan to keep in our portfolio for years to come. After all, XOM is a proven $350B company with over 100 years of dividend payouts. Certainly glad to be adding shares at current price and valuation. AFFJ

  6. Nice buy AFFJ. While I expect oil prices to decline in dollar terms, which will likely put some pressure on oil stocks.....this is a best of breed to own for the long haul. I will be looking to add to our holdings of oil supermajors in the near term.

    1. Thanks Bryan. We own other oil stocks as we have been buying them for most of the year, however, XOM is definitely the more stable of our current oil company holdings. We are always happy to be adding shares large $350B company like XOM.

      Cheers. AFFJ

    1. Thanks Hustler. Just trying to "feed the beast" as they say. I agree there are many other companies that look pretty attractive at the moment. We will definitely continue our buying spree unto the next month should Mr. Market keep providing us with great opportunities!

Cheers to growing that passive income stream. AFFJ
