SALES
This past month, we continued to sell shares of a few more companies from our family's dividend stocks portfolio. Although it was nice to take some profits off the table; unfortunately, the recent sells did impact our annual dividends. Overall, our 12 stock sells decreased our annual dividends by: $173.61 No regrets as I plan to re-invest the over $5K in proceeds into more dividend paying stocks. The goal is to find ones at better values than the ones we sold. We are now sitting more cash than I would like idle so hopefully we can put it to use this coming month. :)
PURCHASES
Once again, we didn't make any buys for our family's dividend stocks portfolio. We started the year off on a strong note but have not made a single purchase since January. For now, we've decided to stock pile cash and wait for the next pull back. Let's hope it happens soon because it not easy to see your money remain idle for months. :)
OVERALL INCREASE TO ANNUAL DIVIDENDS: $0

Even with the sells, you still have impressive dividend income for the month. Are you selling to lock in gains, then re-invest on the next dip. Or, are you using the money for some other reason?
ReplyDeleteWe decided to sell and lock in our gains and hoping to reinvest in other dividend payers at better values. Definitely would welcome a dip. :)
