  1. Looks like ARI did some heavy lifting for your October dividends. One thing I noticed was that the dividend payments are fairly small for most of your October payers. Do you get free trades through your brokerage? Looks solid though and nearly $270 is a nice bit of extra cash flow that you didn't have to work for.

    1. PIP. Thankfully, I get 100 free trades a year. The free trades allows us to ease into our buys.

I have to admit it can be a blessing and a curse. There are times I'm glad I didn't invest much and others I wished I had invested more. :)

Hoping to put this past months dividends to use soon. AFFJ

  2. Not a bad total from 12 companies paying you. Pretty diverse set of names but two seem to be the majority of your payments, ARI and VER. Do you plan to start leveling your dividend income so as to not be too reliant on just a handful of names for your income? Just something to consider. Every portfolio has some degree of this issue, myself included.

    1. Keith - Although I'm happy to report the dividends this past month I am concerned that two companies represents a large share of the dividends. Even worse, they are both real estate stocks. Long term, I hope to lighten my real estate holdings or otherwise increase my exposure in other stocks mentioned. For now, I'll just pray that the dividends remain steady. :)

  3. Great numbers! Too bad I sold most of my REITs this year. But I will add them again after some more rate hike panic.
    Thanks for sharing!

    1. Your are 100% correct DR. I truly wished REITs didn't represent such a large portion of these dividends. But honestly, I didn't consider the dividend payout months when I purchased these stocks. I kind of just ended up that way. Hopefully I can pick up more shares of other stocks so the scale would be so lopsided. :) AFFJ

    1. Congrats on your dividends this past month too. Our dividend payout was roughly $3 apart!

We made a few sells this year but started to buy a bit this past month during this slight dip we just recently saw (before today). Looking forward to watching the recent purchases shine through in future reports. :)

    1. Honestly, it's nice to get consistent dollar amounts each month from your dividends but I don't really make a conscious effort to keep it balance. I'm ok with getting more dividends one month to the next so as long as they keep coming in. :)

      Cheers. AFFJ

    1. Thanks Lanny. Although I won't consciously try to get my 1,4,7,10 month payouts up, I do look forward to the day it consistently is above $300. It will mean my annual payout is growing. :)

Dividends make me happy in any amount (almost). haha
